HeadSpace, Original Works By Josh Fayer, Closing Reception April 13, 2017
March 29, 2017, Brooklyn, NY – Artist Josh Fayer is currently showing a collection of his work titled HeadSpace at Yashar Gallery. The show opened on March 23rd and will run until Thursday April 13th. There will be a closing night reception from 6-10pm. Along with the current show, some older unseen works will also be on display.
HeadSpace was inspired by the ocean and the stars. The collection contains abstract works of mixed media mostly in large format canvases. Josh uses mediums that are usually overlooked and typically not used in standard paintings. For example, Josh uses bar-top resin to create thick layers to give the canvas depth and another dimension. Josh also uses Gesso, typically used to cover the canvases pores and to be painted over, but Josh mixes the Gesso with different types of dyes as a primary medium.
Josh graduated from University of Wisconsin, majoring in Art History as well as earning a certificate in 3D art for woodworking. Josh has also worked at Phillips auction house in New York City and continued his studies of art history in London while working at the Stephanie Hoppen Art Gallery. Josh currently resides in New York City.
